Hi Ladies!
Before we get to the link up- we have a few housekeeping items.
1. SITS Girls Twitter Party is coming up on Monday! New to Twitter? This is a great chance to figure things out!
2. We are accepting submissions for shops to spotlight during Merry SITSmas. Info is here.
3. When leaving comments on other SITS Girls blogs- its a great idea to leave something relevant to the post. “Visiting from SITS!” isn’t a full comment….and, is not going to encourage someone to comment back.
Let’s say you visit a blog and read a post about Twilight. A comment like:
“Loved your thoughts on Twilight. I, too, devoured all four books and neglected
laundry for a week. Looking forwarding to seeing “New Moon”, hope it is better
than the Twlight movie. Came by from SITS!”
would be more appropriate and appreciated. Having said that, we are not now, nor do we have any interest in being the comment police. If you are unhappy with a comment, delete it. It’s that easy.

1. Link the exact page of your contest, NOT just your blog.
2. Use the contest description, not your name.
3. Go forth and spread comment love.

Good morning SITStas! Thanks for spreading that tidbit about appropriate comments. I once deleted a comment on a post I wrote about a special day I had with my daughter. The commenter wished her a happy birthday, told me she was stopping by from SITS, and left her link for me to visit. It was not my daughters birthday, so needless to say, I did not visit and just hit the delete button. It’s kind of insulting!

I have to agree about the comment thing. Especially for blog parties. That’s sort of a pet peeve of mine. I’ll spend the better part of an evening stopping by the other blogs to leave thoughtful comments, and I inevitably receive some “that’s so cute” or “great job” comments with no thought put into them. I know people are busy, but maybe they should think twice about joining the party if they know they won’t have a chance to visit a few of the other blogs and leave a “real” comment. ;) Just my two cents….

In general, comments like ‘Great blog’ don’t encourage me to return the favor. It just feels like an obligatory post. If I see just “visiting from SITS” and nothing else, I make the assumption if I return the favor, the person won’t come back again. I’m looking more to build “relationships” through SITS…so if I comment someone’s blog, I’m hoping they’ll return the favor, then I can pay them a visit again and again and our commenting exchange will continue. Of course, if they don’t like what they see on my blog, I certainly wouldn’t expect they’d come back but I would rather they just not comment at all…if that makes sense. In my three plus years of blogging I’ve learned in order to get readers, you must give…by reading and commenting.

I got signed up on the links list for giveaways Green for the holidays GIVEAWAY
I noticed that most of the giveaways have complex entry requirements with multiple comments needed to enter. I’m wondering if that works out well for you all.
My giveaways usually just require 1 thing, like fan me on Facebook or something along those lines. This time I made a second requirement which was to tell me how you’re going GREEN for the holidays. I’ve noticed that I’ve had a reduced amount of entries since making the second requirement and that’s why I was wondering how it works for you ladies who are making multiple entry requirements.
Any suggestions or insights are helpful

I have to just say to y’all- I sold my old camera and all lenses in hopes to upgrade…. still a bit short on the loot. My darling hubby said to go for it and not worry. I am just thrilled about to pee me pants! Not meaning to brag- BUT wait till ya see what I can do with a REAL camera- not my “trial” SLR. I cannot wait! I gotta go pee now! LOL!
