Aw, shucks. It’s so sweet how y’all missed us so much! But look – we’re back! All shiny and new.
I have to admit I was surprised to read some of the comments and tweets that expressed anxiety over the change from Blogger to Wordpress. From your perspective, things shouldn’t be that different. In fact, things will be easier. Let’s go over the changes:
- The home page. Instead of a long list of posts, we now have short excerpts. This will allow you to see more featured bloggers and make it much easier for you to go back to previous posts if you miss a few days here at SITS.
- Commenting. Yes, Blogger users will now have to enter in their name, email and URL before you comment. But you only have to click ONCE to post your comment. No more annoying pop-up windows! And your comment can now automatically show a link to your most recent blog post – you don’t have to do anything except enter your URL and let the “Comment Luv” plug-in do its work. There’s also a field in the comments to enter your Twitter name. Can you say awesome?
- Please check the SITS button on your blog. If it’s the smaller version with the two girls, {the button with the one girl is fine} the html code in the button needs to be updated. Here is the new code: <a border=”0″ href=”http://thesitsgirls.com/” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee298/oldrallychick/secret-sauce_button.gif” />

Wow! I love it! Was it difficult making the transition to wordpress? It does seem wordpress has more to offer in the way of plug-ins and such and I love their commenting system so much more than blogger. A change may be in my future as well.

Very Nice Change! I’m a wordpress girl myself and I love it. I’ve already heard from some of you ladies that you missed my joke of the day yesterday, so here ya go:
A young executive was leaving the office late one evening when he found the CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.
“Listen,” said the CEO, “this is a very sensitive and important document here, and my secretary has gone for the night. Can you make this thing work?”
“Certainly,” said the young executive. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.
“Excellent, excellent!” said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine. “I just need one copy.”
Lesson-Always be sure you know what the boss is asking for. :~>

Love the new layout! I made the move from Blogger to Wordpress back in August. I was a little nervous, went off without a hitch and now I would never go back. The list of things you can do with WP selfhosted is endless. Trust me, my husband can vouch for the endless hours I’ve spent trying out widgets and plug ins. Just be careful. One wrong plug in and everything can come crashing down, don’t ask me how I know that, but always re-check when you try out a new plugin and backup religiously.

Wordpress is great, glad you made the switch. That Google Friend Plugin can still be used with WP, btw – you had to be proud of those 3700 friends!

I didn’t realize today that I wasn’t getting SITS updates in my Google Reader. I think it’s fixed now. I guess Google and Blogger don’t like Wordpress.

I love the new looks =) I’ve been a loyal user of wordpress since the beginning *winks* now.. its time for me to explore SITS ( as I haven’t been around for quite a long time ahax ! )
Oh, I missed just a few days and so many things happened.
Well, I came looking for the Sunday contest linky because I wanted to enter some giveaways. Didn’t know about the site change. I can’t find what I’m looking forward and too tired to look that hard. Personally, I don’t get the hoopla with WordPress vs. Blogger but I like blogger better. I know WordPress is supposed to be more professional looking, but for some reason I think some of the personality of the blogger gets lost. Not trying to rain on anyone’s parade…just sharing my opinion.

Hi Wonderful Sits Ladies! You guys always do such a professional job with your site. As a wordpress lady myself, maybe you could answer a question since the wordpress people seemed confused. How do I get a follow me button on wordpress? Is it possible? Do I pay? I know you are so busy, but I have been trying to do this since I began in May and get nowhere. I sure would appreciate your advice!
