I’m not sure. It’s awfully far in advance for me to give a definitive yes or no. It would depend on if I could find childcare and whether or not I stay the night or come back home after.

Ugh! My life is too chaotic to plan months in advance.

I am really new to blogging and my site has only been up about 3 months. But I have seen blogs that have the button or info about this conference with a note or a post asking for people to “sponsor” them in order to help pay the costs to attend this conference. Can someone tell me if this is is “allowed”? And if so, can someone please tell me how to go about doing this and whether or not the blogger has any luck with this? I just wonder how a blogger can get readers to help them with their expenses. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Getting sponsorships to a blog conference can be a tricky thing, but is definitely something that is “allowed”. For the most part, bloggers usually approach businesses whose products or services align with their content. This way, in exchange for paying to send a blogger to an event, the company may receive posts, tweets, Facebook updates, etc.

Our suggestion would be to take a look at your content, following, and stats and figure out a business that would be interested in working with you. Might even be a good idea to write up a proposal outlining your exact thoughts and forward it.

We don’t have any experience in asking readers for sponsorships.

    Good luck!

We live in Ft. Worth and I just ran the idea of going by my husband and he was favorable! Not sure if we’re going to make a final decision by 7/15 though.

We’d be making a long weekend out of it – he would be visiting his Austin friends. I’m excited about the possibility!

When is the deadline for tickets? I have asked a brand that I work for (I do not have a blog myself) to send me there so I can learn more about social media and make some more blogging contacts–I have some but not nationwide. I have broached them about the topic but since I have only worked for them for 2 weeks they have not given a definite answer.
