Let’s keep this week moving with today’s featured blogger, Growing Tweens.

I’m growing tweens right now. Not so much teaching them or training them or modeling them into something of my own choosing: mostly just watching the people they are becoming as it happens right before my eyes. Like growing a plant- I’m there to contribute and assist in well-being and health all I can…most of the work seems to be taking place within the object(s) of my affection.

I’m at the bit of motherhood after potty-training and before Trigonometry homework. It’s an in between phase. With four kiddos & two of them tweens in the house, I feel the impacts (odors) of puberty, pride in glimpses of good decision-making, agog at sudden signs of rebellion, and joy at embracing the chaos of it all with my hard-working hubby on a daily basis. Also, I’m a big fan of run-on sentences. I’m am so ready to enjoy meeting all of you on this my much-anticipated SITS feature blogger day!

    Happy SITS day-your post about remaining un-diagnosed is in someways so true. I have 9 kids and with one I went the route of the diagnosis. Not really an improvement or change in the outcome. What you say about parents knowing the most about a child is true often professionals forget to take into consideration the vast wealth of knowledge we as parents have about our child (since even before birth)!Merry Christmas!

      Thanks for that thoughtful response. I am so happy no one has been horrified by my approach to this *yet* and it has felt right, as time passes. My son is certainly coming into his own and finding his own methods of self-control and fitting it into what’s mostly-appropriate. As long as it feels like it’s *working* I’ll go with it!

    Congratulations on your SITS day! I can’t wait to see what you have to say lol… I’m still in preschooler mode and soon to be back into newborn routines. But…lol..from what I hear, its NEVER too early to learn how to parent a tween!! =)

    Tweens! I can’t even fathom. I have a 3- and a 4-year-old right now. I look forward to that age range, though – the conversations, the jokes, and hopefully they’ll be done dropping food on the floor. :) Can’t wait to check out your blog!

    Where does time fly? I look at all the comments of people who can’t fathom having Tweens and I think: That used to be me! But here I am ; home filled with Tweens (and 1 teen – yikes)
