Day 3 of our Spring Fling is all about Facebook fanpages and helping you to get connected on the # 1 traffic referrer on the web.

Fanpages on Facebook
Do you have a Facebook fan page for your blog? As you grow your presence on the web, it can be a great place to connect with readers, share stories, and even give your audience a little something “extra” by uploading photos, videos and other content you know they will enjoy.
If interested in learning more about how to create a fanpage on Facebook, here are a few posts we recommend to help you get started:

Link Up Your Facebook Fanpage
If you do have a Facebook fanpage, then it’s time for you to get connected! Here is what is happening today:
- Link up your Facebook URL in the below linky, such as http://www.facebook.com/SITSGirls. {You’ll see that we are not using the picture thumbnails today in an effort to improve the problems some readers were having.}
- Fan at least two Facebook pages ahead of you in the Linky.
- Leave a message on your new Facebook friends’ pages and get the conversation started. Here’s an example: Holla! I’m here as part of Spring Fling from The SITS Girls. Love what I’m seeing on your Facebook page.
If you do not have a Facebook fanpage for your blog, NO WORRIES! You can the option to link up your personal account, if you’re so inclined. Another thought would be simply to skip today and come back tomorrow when we’ll be talking all about Google+ accounts.
And while you are on Facebook, be sure to check out our amazing luxury spa giveaway package. Valued at over $250, it is the best gift set we’ve given away yet!

I noticed that your tutorial on setting up a Fan page is from 2010. Facebook recently changed the way businesses can set up their Fan pages so it’s possible your tutorial is out-of-date. Just a heads-up. You might want to check this out to make sure you’re giving accurate information.

Just wanted to let everyone know that you need to like pages with your Personal page not your FB page in order for the numbers to increase. I followed most of the new pages and liked them, I noticed people are liking my page with their facebook page, so it doesn’t show growth that way. It would be great if everyone knew how to do it.

I keep trying to click on the link for “How to Add a Facebook Fanbox to Your Blog” but the link is broken. This is something I really would like to learn to do (I use self-hosted WordPress). I’ve done an internet search for similar articles but the directions all seem to be for the former Facebook format. They mention an “Add Facebook Fanbox icon” you can click on and I don’t see that. Can you repost the link?
