31DBBB: A Final Look Back…And A Baby?!

New to SITS? Welcome!! Go read this to get started.

We did it!  We made it through the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Summer Challenge.  Even if you weren’t able to participate regularly, take a moment to appreciate everything we accomplished as a group over the last month.  We are still marveling over the fact that over 500 women signed up and committed to improve their blogs.  Amazing!

As part of our wrap-up, here are the posts from the final days of the challenge:

Day 28: We wrote a review post in order to increase the likelihood that readers will see us as an authority and explored various options on how to compose this type of post.

Day 29: We developed a plan to boost our blog’s readership by outlining specific steps and identifying where we can connect with new readers.

Day 30: We spent time looking at our stats to see what we can learn from them.

Day 31: We thought about where to go from here and planned the next steps for our blog!

If you are still planning to work through the challenge sometime this fall, you should!  The discussions in the SITS Girls forum are there to stay.  In fact, thanks to Jade from Now That I Am No Longer 25…, you can find all of the discussions listed in order here.

And when you do finish the challenge, be sure to upload your Survivor Badge telling the world of your accomplishment!

Here is the code you’ll need:

As we draw our Summer Challenge to a close, we thought nothing could be more fitting than to host a final live chat with Darren Rowse from ProBlogger.  As the author and inspiration behind this movement, Darren’s input has proved invaluable to our community.  Yesterday’s chat was no exception.  If you missed the discussion or would like to tune in again, you can find the recorded feed here on UStream.

There are a myriad of factors that go into making an event like this a success, from timing to organization to a little bit of luck.  However, most important in all of this are the people who work daily to ensure tasks move forward in a positive and beneficial way.

In light of their efforts, we wanted to give our team members a chance to say thanks in their own way….

We were thrilled (and honored) to help host the 31DBBB challenge with SITS and ProBlogger in the SITS community.  Everyone here at BlogFrog was in awe of the dedication and collective determination of the 500+ bloggers who all took on the challenge and so proud and inspired to be associated with everyone involved. What shall we do together next?!

-Holly, Lori and the BlogFrog Team

A big thank you to everyone who participated in the 31 day challenge. It has been an amazing experience to connect with so many new bloggers. Keep writing and commenting!

-Jen from When Pigs Fly

This challenge has been a unique and rewarding experience for me and I thank SITS, Blog Frog and all the absolutely awesome (and I TOTALLY mean that) co-leaders for the challenge.  I’m new to SITS and wow, what a welcome this has been. Blog Frog is a gracious host and cool, unique tool dedicated to improving blog communities. To ALL the participants; I’m freshly blown away every time I visit your blogs – you are all amazing and I’m so thankful 31DBBB brought us together.

-Lynda from Daily Window

The past 31 days have been such a wonderful experience.  I didn’t complete all of the tasks, but watching everyone else do them has been so incredibly inspiring!  I feel like with the calendar I’ve created and the e-book as a tool, I have a real plan for my blog for the first time, and my excitement is renewed.  I’m so happy to be part of the SITS Community at Blog Frog, and I can’t wait to keep seeing exciting things from everyone who participated.

-Rachael from Scientific Nature of the Whammy

I can’t tell you how much this experience has impacted me in a positive way.  It’s been awesome working with ProBlogger, the SITS Girls, the Blog Frog, and the co-leads, and I CAN’T thank them enough for their support and encouragement, but what really has me feeling all warm and fuzzy are the amazing bloggers I’ve connected with throughout the challenge.  I’m truly honored and inspired by all of your talent, support, and friendship.  Please continue to follow your bliss and become the blog goddess/god you were meant to be, and just remember to thank the little people (me) when you reach the top.

-Erin from Nirvana Mamma

As for me, this challenge is something I will never forget.  Not only was it the first large-scale event that Tiffany, Kathy, and I worked on together, but prior to it ending, I added a new member to the SITS Community.  Meet my daughter, Liliana Grace, born on Day 29 on the challenge!

Lilliana Grace: The youngest blogger ever

The rest of my blogging tribe: Lucia, Giancarlo, and Liliana

We hope that you enjoyed this event as much as we did.  As for Holly’s question about what’s next, we can tell you that for the rest of the year and into 2011, we have similar activities planned.  While we will not be repeating the 31 Day Challenge, we can promise plenty of interactive, fun, and educational events all geared at highlighting the members of our community.

We hope you’ll join us!
