New to SITS? Welcome!! Go read this to get started.
Today is Day 27 of our ProBlogger Summer Challenge. It’s hard to believe there are only four days left in our month long event. If you’ve been diligently playing along, then congratulations! You are still in the running to win a Sony Bloggie Camera from our friends at BlogFrog.

On other other hand, if you are thinking about joining or maybe haven’t been able to keep up with the daily tasks, don’t worry! The good news is that the discussions in the SITS Girls Community are not going anywhere. You can check out select topics or work through the entire challenge at your own pace starting whenever you like.
Since it is Saturday, here is your recap of what happened in BlogFrog this week:
Day 21: We updated an old post by rechecking hyper-links, calling our readers to action, adding more detail, and a host of other methods. Alana from Domestically Challenged did this by updating a post on how to get reluctant sleepers to make it through the night. Michelle from Green Earth Bazaar also completed this task, but wrote about how she found hope and joy through a fleeting connection to peace activists in her home town.
Day 22: We paid special attention to a reader and showed how much we value them. Shawna R.B. Atteberry did a fantastic job with this post by introducing Margaret Almon, an artist and fellow blogger she had met through our challenge, to her readers. Kimberly from Kimberly Gauthier Photography wrote about how she overcame her nervousness and connected with a friend from Twitter over the phone.
Day 23: We learned the importance of calling our readers to action. Snapping them out of a passive role, and into an active one, can help ensure people come back to a blog again and again. Our very own Erin from Nirvana Mamma is doing just that with a blog meme she created entitled, Blog for a Cause. In her monthly carnival, Erin is calling her readers to action by asking them to support a specific cause, such as breast cancer.
Day 24: We took a break and headed out to a bookstore for an hour. Our mission? To analyze a magazine for marketing, design and post ideas.
Day 25: We asked our readers a question. Question posts can rank higher in search engines, engage a community, and give readers a sense of participation. Andrea from Multiple Mama battled with figuring out what kind of mom she is, while Clarabela Media challenged her readers to question their expenses when starting a business as a freelancer.
Day 26: We figured out a way to improve someone else’s blog. The key is to identify another blogger’s needs and attempt to fulfill them in some way. For Sandi from Deva Coaching, this meant creating a post about Gabe from Now What, Dad? Gabe is the only man brave enough to work his way through the challenge along with our other 500 women participants. We heart us some manly presence in the SITStahood. Thanks for this post, Sandi!

Happy weekend SITS ladies! Here is my favorite post of the week:

Happy Saturday! Our rain has gone away and now the sun is shining.
Weekends are so nice, but boy do I have a lot of dishes to do by Monday! Hope you all have a fun weekend!
My favorite post this week was “Nobody’s Perfect.” http://etsynativesky.blogspot.com/2010/08/nobodys-perfect.html
It’s so easy for people to get frustrated when they’re first starting out and it’s comforting to know that everyone makes mistakes.
The battle for our home has entered phase 2. Any advice or can you commiserate?
My favorite post this week was about making mistakes: http://etsynativesky.blogspot.com/2010/08/nobodys-perfect.html
It’s so important to keep trying!
I’m loving the challenge. When my laptop caught on fire the other day the first thing I could think about was “OH NO….I’m going to miss today’s lesson!” LOL I know…I’m sick. LOL
Happy weekend, everyone! I just started a new blog this week, so no one post in particular is a favorite, just happy to be blogging again.

My favorite post is about wanting to fast forward through the tough moments in life, but finding the little moments that hold you in place.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to do the challenge. I’ve been so occupied with working and wedding planning, I can’t believe it is so much work. Of course I am in Iraq so I guess it makes a tad bit more difficult, just saying’!
My last post: It’s Coming Together-Invites
I didn’t get to do the challenge as I’ve been busy moving – from China to Jordan! But I’m looking forward to going through all of these posts now that I’m settling in and have internet access again.
Like EncoreBride above, I wasn’t able to participate in the challenge due to an already out-of-whack schedule, but I can’t help but feeling like I missed out on something pretty spectacular. I’ve enjoyed reading about the challenges and assignments and picking up tips and advice from the posts relating to the Challenge here on SITS and on the FB page. Thank you for sharing so generously ladies!
I have a wonderful DIY project for making custom mugs and dinnerware, with a tie-in about establishing traditions with friends. It includes a free gift-tag download too. SITStas, please feel free to drop by if you’re so inclined.
Best, Jenn/Rook No. 17
Happy Saturday to everyone and congrats to all that are making it through the 31DBB
Wow, those 27 days went fast!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest all! I hope everyone’s having a great weekend.
The #31dbbb has gone by way too fast. I wish we’d done a challenge every OTHER day…hehe.
Happy Saturday! I took this whole week off from blogging, it was nice! But I will be glad to be back on Monday.
Thank you SITSGirls and Nirvana Momma for keeping up going, making this fun and helping us to find greater success at finding and projecting our voice.
Happy Saturday!
Wow. Your post resounded with me so much!
Time has gone by so quickly! Day 27 already? This has been a lot of fun. Thank you SITSGirls and Nirvana Momma. I appreciate this very supportive community, helping others succeed!
Proud to be, as my 7yo daughter calls us, a Secret Sauce Girl!
Happy Saturday SITStahs!
That’s an awesome looking camera! I’ll have to add it to my wish list! Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Boy am I thankful the posts are sticking around! I came in late and need to catch up. =)
This week has been a startling one for me and it reflects in my writing. I had trouble deciding between Edible Therapy and a post about my Fruitcake past but in the end, the shorter one won out.
Go here to read about “Edible Therapy”: http://cjsmonnie.blogspot.com/2010/08/edible-therapy.html
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
Oiy! Someone said something about Christmas coming? LOL! I just want cooler weather… so tired of the 105-110 the past couple weeks. Please, Lord, we need rain, too. Maybe later tonight… maybe.
Happy Saturday to everyone with loads of blessings! =) ♥
I wrote about breastfeeding and modesty and how all the flap about lust-filled men watching is the men’s fault, not the fault of the women who are breastfeeding. So many people in the faith community pin full responsibility for pure thoughts on the women. Totally wrong. “Sometimes Girls Want To Be Looked At” http://www.joyinthisjourney.com/2010/08/sometimes-girls-want-to-be-looked-at.html
I also wrote a post on BlogHer about writing naked – is it possible to be too authentic, too vulnerable, too raw? (I don’t think so, but some of my readers do.) http://www.blogher.com/too-naked
Another great week has come to an end! Looking forward to next week!
I haven’t been able to participate in the month long blog challenge as much as I would have liked but I have read through all the prompts and enjoyed putting the lessons into practice in my own way. Thank you SITS SOOOOOO much!!!! The SITStahood support has been incredible!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend
