It’s a tradition that is passed from one generation to the next.
One that is filled with girlish delight, giddy laughter, holiday spirit, and Starbucks at 4 in the morning.
The tradition known as…
BLACK FRIDAY
We don’t care if you’re a die hard shopper, or a snooze-button-hitting-fool. Once that big ‘ol newpaper hits your driveway, a thrilling shiver races down your spine because that ink is still fresh and you just know that the perfect gift is at it’s rock bottom price hidden somewhere in those sale flyers.

I just can’t deal with the crowds…I’m an Internet shopper myself. I have a hard enough time getting up early when I HAVE to, let alone by choice. But happy hunting to all of you who are braver and hardier than I!

Used to hit Black Friday sales all the time with my parents. Now I prefer to be done with shopping by Thanksgiving. Or I hit the stores online. I love the internet! Maybe when my babies are older I’ll revisit the chaos.

Meh…the idea of getting up at 2am to fight a million other shoppers for products (many of which were marked up THEN marked down again) does NOT appeal to me. Not that we really have a “Black Friday” here like there is in the States.
Besides which, I like to have as much of my Christmas shopping done as early as possible. I really don’t have much left to buy.

I’m not going to take part in black Friday shopping. Too many people, too little parking and too much stress.
Instead, this year I’m trying to make all of my gifts. I started with jams, jellies and pickles this summer and have been working on hats and bags all fall.
