Happy Friday! We are ready to kick today off with our flash featured blogger winner, 52 Kitchen Adventures.

Hi, I’m Stephanie – a California girl who loves to bake (but not cook)! I started 52 Kitchen Adventures in 2010 as a challenge to try an unusual ingredient once a week for a year and make myself cook more. After the year was over, the food blog became a creative outlet for this baker to fill with beautiful, mouth-watering desserts. Now my mission is to simplify baking from scratch for the home cook.     I’m so happy to have discovered your blog! I too just finished planning a fall wedding and am happy to be back in the swing of normal life and blogging! It’s amazing how much the whole planning a wedding thing (you know…that small small feat, NOT) can consume you! Ha! I look forward to learning more about you as I follow your blog!

      Alison, it’s not great for the waistline, but I’m a firm believer in enjoying life and practicing moderation. It gets tough when I bake up a batch of cupcakes though!

    Stephanie,
    This is super cool. I am curious about two things: (1) do you have a favorite recipe? and (2) what was the biggest thing you learned after doing this?

      Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment, Kim! You saw my faves from last year. It’s hard to pick a favorite overall. From my 52 adventures, I’d say some of the unusual fruits were my favorites, like dragon fruit: http://www.52kitchenadventures.com/2010/09/19/week-38-dragon-fruit/

      I learned that getting out of your comfort zone is challenging but worth it and you should try everything at least once! You never know if you’ll like it otherwise.
