Heidi is the Wonder Woman Wannabe and voice behind the blog that you’ll definitely want to get to know!
What can readers expect to find when visiting your site?
My site is primarily dedicated to learning and sharing ways to be more like the Proverbs 31 Christian woman. I like to refer to her as the original ‘Wonder Woman’. If you’ve ever read about her, you’d see that her standard is pretty high to live up to, but I sure do try. I use my blog as a virtual file of sorts highlighting helpful tips, personal experiences, and wisdom from others to make this task more manageable.
Basically, I want to be the best woman, wife, mama, homemaker, businesswoman and friend that I can be, and I blog about it! 🙂
What is your best thrifty find and favorite DIY project?
I loved the results that came from painting my kitchen cabinets! That was my first true blue DIY project. We have since moved from the house where I did that, but the new owners sure appreciate it!
My favorite thrifty project has to be my family photo wall collage as well as the felt picture chore chart.
You describe your personality as a dramatic extroverted creative sort. How is your blogging effected by this?
That is a really great question! You know, I’m not sure my dramatic/extroverted personality comes through in my writing. However, if we were to hang out in real life, like for a girls night out, I’d be the friend that suggests going dancing, singing karaoke, or maybe just making up a fake accent and go looking for a pretend ingredient at a grocery store just to see what kind of reaction we’d get!
One of the things I appreciate most about blogging as an extrovert is the creative outlet as well as the ability to connect with others in my similar phase of life. Reading and commenting on blogs is a lot like an on-going coffee date with good friends!
How did you become a professional organizer? What one piece of advice would help us all in this area?
Deep down I’ve always known that if I didn’t become a famous actress (my first occupational goal), I’d most likely eventually have my own business one day. I suppose it’s in my blood since both my parents are entrepreneurs.
I’ve always been a planner, a creator, as well as very service oriented. In all the jobs I’ve had since college – I observed that those are the areas I’ve thrived in.
My first thought was to pursue a job as an Event Planner, but I didn’t want to give up the precious time with my young family for a job like that. When I thought about it, most all events take place in the evenings or on weekends, which is prime family time. Organizing, on the other hand, can happen most anytime, and I can set consultations and appointments around our family’s needs, which is important to me.
My piece of advice is to focus on small steps: Many people are overwhelmed at the thought of tackling an organization project. If you’re not sure what to do or work on next, just choose what’s right in front of you, and keep plugging away at it, even if for just 15 minutes a day.
Being organized is largely based on creating and keeping new habits. It’s a skill that can be learned. Also, there is no ‘right way’ to be or get organized. You just need to find methods and systems that help you ‘do life’ a bit better. That can look different to different people and a professional organizer can help find those ways. If you’re interested in learning even more, check out my business website www.operationorganization-mn.com and become a Facebook fan. I post a helpful tip, link, or inspirational quote once a week on the Facebook page.

Wow, a professional organizer- I totally need one, but the amount of chaos in my house would mean she’d take years to get it under control and it’d cost a fortune LOL

Very nice and colorful blog. Good stuff.
Best to everyone,
-Victoria
