Liz Gizzy is a blog about….life.  The life of a working mom and her family, including her much awaited son, James.  Let’s give Liz Gizzy a warm SITS welcome!

Tell us about your blog and what we can expect when visiting.
My family has spread like leaves on the wind in recent years; I blog so that we can stay in touch virtually. I write about the daily goings on in our life, from the latest project to the whacky stuff my five-year-old does.  I try to keep it light-hearted so hopefully strangers that stumble across my pages are entertained enough to come back.

When did you start blogging and why?
I’ve kept a journal since is was a 10, you know the kind with the lock and the tiny little key.  Two years ago another mom sent out mail pointing to Mrs. Mouthy’s blog (SITS featured blogger) saying if I needed to take a break go here, and I was hooked.  Blogging is like keeping a journal with that lock torn off, everything is just so out there.  Knowing that someone might read what I write pushes me to do better.  I also want to be able to share all the little details about what makes raising a child magical with my son someday.

How do you balance blogging with your other responsibilities?
Honestly I don’t know if I’ve found the secret to achieving balance.  Both my husband and I work full time at really intense jobs.  When we are home most of the energy we have left, we give to our son. That doesn’t leave much left over for anything else, and fitting in blogging is hard.  I’d love to blog every day but, trade-offs have get made.  Sometimes dishes pile up in the kitchen, or the laundry overflows the hamper and writing happens instead.  Fitting in a workout means blogging takes a back seat.  Sometimes I get completely overwhelmed and nothing gets done.  If anyone has found the key to balancing blogging and other responsibilities, and putting the guilt that comes with not doing it all to bed, please let me know.

Have you ever attended a blog conference?
No, but I’d like to. {May I suggest Bloggy Boot Camp?}

What’s the most touching comment you’ve ever received?
My husband is my toughest critic, when he says he likes something I get all giggley like a schoolgirl.

    This sounds so familiar to me! Glad to hear that you have your priorities in the right order like I do. 😉
