Come celebrate motherhood with Evanthia and Sarahlynne from merelymothers!
Merelymothers is written by two stay-at-home moms and educators who strive to maintain identities as introspective, creative, modern women. Despite recent debates in the press, we refuse to believe that our choice to be full-time moms is somehow a negation of feminism or a decision to step into the shadows as women (to become “merely” mothers). Our blog celebrates motherhood in all its forms, analyzes our generationsโ expectations of women and families, and encourages discussion and debate of controversial parenting issues. We love to write about the topics that most people are nervous to talk about. Speak up! Speak out! We certainly do.

Happy SITS Day! The insight into “terrible twos” is certainly accurate. This time period in child development happens just when the child wants to seek independence but is unable to communicate well and understand rationale behind decisions mom has to make in their interest! With 9 children I have been through this 8 times and am currently in that phase with my youngest…who is 2.5 years old!
Hi merely mothers! Congrats on your sits day! I’ll be sure to swing by!

I think it’s great that you both are bringing recognition to one of the hardest, yet most rewarding jobs, being ‘merely’ a mom! Good luck to you both!
Happy SITS Day… and as you can see from the topic of my last post, I think we may be like-minded souls.

Kudos to you ladies for sticking up for being a full time mom, that in itself is a full time job, can’t wait to read some posts!
Ooh . . . this one sounds like a lot of fun. Off to check it out!
Congrats on your SITS day! Going to check out your blog soon!
Love the title! My mom was also “merely” a mother, and then there’s me, not having kids at all. Two opposites. Funny how she is criticized for choosing kids over work, and I’m criticized for working full-time and not having a family yet! Either option gets you lambasted. The worst is when the criticism comes from other women. Shouldn’t we all be building each other up, not tearing each other down?
Sounds interesting! Off to check it out now. Happy SITS Day!

Happy SITS Day!
I recently made the decision with my husband to be a stay at home mom (when the time comes). One of my initial concerns was these societal expectations about women in the 21st century, so I am looking forward to checking our your blog!
A dynamic duo! Congrats on your SITS Day!
I love the thought behind “merelymothers”. I have been guilty of saying “I’m just a mom”. I’m headed that way now.
Congrats on your SITS day!

Love it! You ARE feminists…you’re choosing how your life will go. That’s what it’s about – so many people think feminism = hating men and working until retirement. Which, if that’s what you want, then great, but the idea is to have choices. I LOVE that you see that and celebrate all the choices out there!
Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s rainy and cool here- such a good day for a warm bowl of chili. Man, I love the fall!
Have a wonderful day!
Congrats on your SITS day! Your blog looks great. Can’t wait to read more!

Awesome. Can’t wait to check out these great mommies now. I don’t think it matters that I’m not necessarily a mom myself, I always love girls who look at the world differently and speak their opinion proudly ๐
