Helpful info, as usual! Personally, when I visit a blog, I like to see clean lines with no flashing lights or pulsating banners. I also like being able to read the entire post without having to click to see the rest of the story. If there is just too much overkill, I usually just say no.
Eventually, I would love to hire a web designer, but for now I will just keep reading your awesome pointers!

Lots of terrific links. Now that I’ve gotten proficient at downloading premium templates and tweaking them, I’ve been changing my blog around at least every 6 months. It keeps things fresh and me entertained. I did read an online article that said the trend is towards headers with just text and utilizing the myriad of great fonts out there. I know I went simpler. It’s great if you want a cleaner look.
