It was far better than I ever expected. I think I learned more from this one day than I have in the few years I’ve been blogging. Each speaker brought something useful to view and I intend to take their advice on several points. My post is about the 5 things I learned (lists!) but I really could have filled a page. Thank you so much and I look forward to next year’s event! (NYC?)
I cant get the linky to work, but heres my post: http://www.pursuitpeace.com/2011/05/bloggy-boot-camp.html
I think I learned even more on the second go round at Bloggy Boot Camp!
Sandra,
Thanks so much for coming a second time. I thought the speakers were stellar and the energy of the attendees was just awesome.

sounds fantastic!
BBC was also my first conference, could totally see becoming a BBC stalker… er I mean regular attendee. Had lots of fun and learned so much, too.
We love us some regulars!
I swear, I learn something new and meet new people I adore at every single stop!

Sure wish I could have gone but I’m on my way to Alaska…now in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada…having a fun time traveling with a friend from Minnesota. Hope everyone had a great time, learned a lot and great Mother’s Day to all.
Alaska? AWESOME. Visiting that amazing place is on my bucket list.
Have a GREAT time!!
Oh, wow, is it ever awesome. Today we saw two caribou, a black bear, an awesome waterfall and last night we went swimming in a great HOT springs. Can’t get better than that especially when you add in mountains that are just AMAZING and rivers and well, you get the idea.
Had such a wonderful time and met so many wonderful people and heard such inspiring speakers. It was also a very non-intimidating envrionment which was great for me since it was my first conference. Thanks so much to everyone involved.
Gilda
So glad you enjoyed yourself Gilda!
I am so glad you enjoyed it and found the experience worthwhile.
I didn’t know what to expect from BBC yesterday, I was so taken aback and thrilled by all of the amazing bloggers I got to meet and learn from. This was the best gift I have ever given myself. I too walked away with tons of notes and ideas on how to do what I love and do it better. I can’t thank SITS enough!
Can’t wait to attend a BBC one of these days!
Happy Mother’s Day all.
I agree with everything that Sharon just said! I had such an incredible day yesterday. I met so many great bloggers who had such great advice. This was my first Blog Conference and since I was going by myself I was so nervous that I wouldn’t have anyone to talk to. I have to say, I have never felt so welcome not only from the SITSgirls Tiffany and Francesca but from all of the wonderful Speakers and participants. I highly recommend for anyone going to an upcoming conference, make business cards with all your information including your Twitter, site URL(s), and any other social media contact information. The participants were a great mix of newbies like me and seasoned professionals so there were lots of questions at our tables while waiting for the next speaker to start and lots of networking all day long. A special thank you to Annie, Adrienne, Maggie, Mary, Desiree, Lindsey, and Jennifer for all your great advice.
I came away with so many great ideas and information and I will be spending some quality time with my blogs this week. Thank you everyone at #BBCBOS Blog Conference!
You’re welcome. 🙂 I also felt nervous about being there, but ended up making some great connections and receives the motivational “shove” that I so desperately needed. Thanks to all involved in the success of #bbcbos!
I can’t wait til you guys do one in DC!! I love Boston though. Jealous of all of you B-Bootcampers!
How awesome! I’m going to try to make it to the one in Atlanta in the fall!!
Hi Liza! I will be at the Atlanta one as well! Very close to me! After reading these accounts, I can’t wait!

Bloggy Boot Camp Boston was OUTSTANDING! I walked away with a notebook full of great ideas and tips that I plan to put to use over the next several weeks. (I am actually sitting here this morning in the peace and quiet of Mother’s Day to upload them all into Evernote and create a to-do list for myself).
Here are some of the fantastic things that I took away from this conference:
Amy Bradley-Hole delivered a great presentation on branding- and gave us a list of 5 things to think about. I will be spending time on pondering my unique role on the web, and the promise that I intend to deliver to my readers.
Erica Voll told us how to develop killer content, and Tiffany and Francesca followed up with a great overview of how to use Google AdWords Keyword List to research keywords. And Tiffany gave us 4 things to do once a week- use keywords in the title, in the first paragraph, to create your category names, to link to a related article from our category within the first paragraph. Love this!
Carol Schiller told us exactly how to (and how not to) pitch a brand. She was upfront and no nonsense- and we all hung on her every word!
Lindsey Garrett gave us some incredible photography ideas- and her handout alone was worth the price of admission! I will be working through these ideas and will completely change my approach to using photography on my blog.
Francesca and Amanda gave us a fantastic Social Media 101 Presentation…. and I went right home and started using TweetDeck last night.
And MommyNiri closed by reminding us all ways we can use our influence for social good.
Tiffany and Francesca really delivered here…. the speakers were great, the sponsors were wonderful- and very interested in speaking with and meeting bloggers and creating partnerships. I don’t know when I will ever be able to take the time to attend a multi-day blog conference…. but I can promise you that this won’t be my last Bloggy Boot Camp!
Good Morning, SITStahs! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Looking forward to all the link ups, and to BBC Atlanta!
When will you be returning to Boston?
