Today is the second day of the Canon Rebel T2i Giveaway and we’re showing off anything we’ve created for Halloween. It can be as complex as an entire Halloween costume or as simple as a carved pumpkin. I am proof that you don’t actually have to be crafty to try your hand at a simple project.
I love crafts.
I do!
I see magazine articles and crafty blog posts written by crafty bloggers and I think, I can SO do that!
I add ingredients to my grocery lists…ribbons and marshmallows and stickers and paint and all the things one might need to create magical pieces of Halloween spirit to be treasured for always.
The problem is that all too often what starts off like this…
often becomes this…
Not one to be easily discouraged, I might try my hand at this:
I’ll attempt to redeem myself with this:
And when I realize that crafting might not be my thing…I’ll try my hand at seasonal sugar cookies instead.
Because you have to be pretty talented to mess those up.
Errr…
I suppose there’s always next year…surely you can come up with something better than this, let’s see what you’ve got!
STEP ONE: Create a post describing something that you’ve created for Halloween. Anything qualifies…costumes, recipes, crafts, party invites, treats, decorations, whatever you can come up with!
STEP TWO: Link your Crafty post up below.
You can earn additional entries by:
- “Liking” SITS on Facebook.
- Tweeting the following message: Boo! I’m celebrating Halloween with @SITSGirls & entering to win a Canon Rebel DSLR camera http://bit.ly/dtwrjJ
- Starting or joining a conversation in our Discussion Forum.
- Participating in Day 1 of our Halloween Party and linking up a post describing your favorite Halloween memory.
The fine print:
This contest is sponsored by yours truly and will run from Saturday, October 30 to Friday, November 5 at midnight PST. Participants may link up their posts at anytime during the week. There is no limit to the number of times you enter this giveaway. A winner will be chosen at random.

Hey Sits Girls.
Comment Luv is still not parsing my feed. I don’t think it’s on my end… I get comment luv to parse my feed on other sites that use comment luv!?!?
And, how many times can I tweet? How many times can I participate in the forum for extra entries?
Was I supposed to leave a separate comment letting you know I tweeted too? ‘Cause I did 🙂
Your pictures are hysterical! Absolutely LOVED them 🙂 Glad to know I’m not the only one who can’t make shaped sugar cookies. I’ll have to send you my “Christmas Trees” sometime. They look like the asteroids from the old Atari game..or something from Ghostbusters, lol.
Now I’ve entered all three days! I don’t remember how many times I’ve tweeted, but it’s been a few, and I already like SITs on facebook 🙂

*LOL* I like easy crafts that don’t require a lot of fine details.. cause the devil really is in the details and I suck at them. 😉
I bet the cookies still tasted good though! 😉
Your little one looks thrilled with those cookies just the same!
Happy Halloween.

Im having a hard time finding where I post my link to my post at. Help?
A lot of craftiness out there:-)
Oh wow! I am the same way… the vision and my reality sometimes differ dramatically!! I keep trying though and hope one day I’ll get it!
PS – I’ve posted and tweeted!
Kat, if you ever decide to give those little marshmallow-ghosts-on-a-stick a try again, I have a whole section of my blog devoted to CHOCOLATE DIPPING projects. Here’s a link to my tutorial for working with chocolate:
http://www.rookno17.com/2009/12/wonkateers-couture-candy-diy.html
Chocolate chips have added ingredients to keep them from liquefying during the baking process, which causes them to be really thick and gloppy when melted for a dipping project. You can add a small amount of vegetable oil to loosen up melted chocolate chips, but better to go with a “candy coating”, “candy melts” or couverture chocolate callets.
Happy Halloween all! I just added my funny pumpkins to the list. Hope you like them!
