As I was reading through the comments on our website earlier this week, one in particular caught my eye:

any one else out there having bloggers block???? ugghhh!! i need some inspiration :))

-Andrea from Patchwork Pages

I know that feeling.  I think all bloggers do.  Coming up with post ideas multiple times a week is not easy.  I’m lucky if I have one really good topic, let alone 3 or 4.

I’ll let you in on a little secret, though.  There’s a way to avoid writer’s block and staring blankly at your computer screen.

Something magical happens each week in blogland.  Other bloggers happily come up with post topics for you, enabling you to write great posts and drive traffic to your site.

It’s true.

You simply need to harness the power of the meme, a handy dandy festival of links hosted by other amazing blogs.

Inspiration is only a click away.  I even have a few personal favorites that I recommend to only my very best SITStahs…like you.

Do It Yourself Day hosted by Kimba from A Soft Place to Land
Every Tuesday, Kimba invites you to share your latest and greatest DIY project.  What constitutes a DIY project is open to interpretation too.  A furniture makeover, outdoor project, indoor project, new artwork, even a great recipe all qualify.

Give Me Your Best Shot hosted by Lolli from Better in Bulk
This meme is simply a fun way to share your favorite photo from the week.  What inspired you?  Made you smile?  What emotions, personalities, and details did you catch on camera?  This is not a photo contest or critique, but rather a way to look back on your week with a few friends.

“Oh No He Didn’t!” hosted by Kristi from Live and Love…Out Loud
Kristi’s laugh out loud carnival encourages bloggers to write about something their husband (or any man, for that matter) may have said or done recently that made them stop and say “OH NO HE DIDN’T!”

Pour Your Heart Out hosted by Shell from Things I Can’t Say
Shell encourages her readers to write a post from their heart.  This could be something that has been weighing on you, something you feel passionately about, or something you’ve been wanting to talk about.  A cause, a memory, a belief, a world view.  Anything.

Tuesdays Unwrapped hosted by Emily from Chatting at the Sky
A truly inspirational site, Emily celebrates anything that causes you to pause and live in the moment.  Not what will be or what is to come, but what is real and true today: the messy, the lovely, and the unexpected.  Share a photo, a story, or anything that offers a glimpse into your journey of discovering the gifts in the midst of the ordinary.

Wordful Wednesday hosted by Angie from Seven Clown Circus
Wordful Wednesday is for those of us that like to showcase a photo(s), but  just can’t seem keep our mouths shut about it (them).  If you’d like to play along, post a photo {or more if you are so inclined} on your blog, and let the words roll.

Writer’s Workshop hosted by Mama Kat from Mama’s Losin’ It
Writer’s Workshop is a weekly opportunity for you to participate in a writing activity that will inspire you to be creative and keep writing, while connecting with other bloggers at the same time.  What’s more, Mama Kat keeps a running list of all the writing prompts she’s ever published.  To date, our girl has close to 500!  If that isn’t plenty of inspiration, then I don’t know what is.

It’s Saturday Sharefest here on SITS!  Here’s what you can do to play along: Leave a comment below and include a link to your favorite post that you wrote this week.  Once done, visit the link from the person (or a couple people) who commented BEFORE you.

Spread the love and the inspiration.

I actually just took a break from blogging to find some focus. I just released the new direction of my blog which I think will help me with higher quality posts. In the meantime though, I had a few other bloggers (some from SITS) write about how they found their focus. You can check it out on my site at http://www.amsyafternoonreading.com.

  • Jasmine says:

I’ve never participated in a Meme before or even heard of it for that matter. But it sounds great! I’ll have to check it out!

  • Big Mama says:

great idea’s! I get blocked all the time on what to do.
I do have a Monday meme that I like. Its great to pass the ‘old stories’ down to the kids without the whole ‘old folgie’ thing to it.

  • I have yet to fall into the bloggers-block rut. Most times, I’m trying to figure out which post to make, when and how to mesh my thought together.

  • Theresa says:

Bookmarked them all 😀 Thanks for sharing!

  • Beanie says:

    Love the tips!

What I’m finding is that my thought processes now don’t match what my blog’s MO is all about.

    It’s very frustrating. 🙁

  • Rasha says:

Great tips! I lack motivation often and this will be really great to look back on!

  • Lisa says:

What a great site; one stop blog everything. I love it. I will be following and participating. I began a bread blog and also clicked into nablopomo. Hope you will come by http://www.lisaslovinloaves.blogspot.com and see the list of sites I currently follow which includes my nablopomo. Reading, baking, writing, photography and fun.
    See ya n the blogosphere,

  • Charlotte says:

You know, I have never participated in a meme and I’ve been meaning to for quite some time now. And these are some great ideas for days when I can’t seem to come up with anything on my own. Thanks!

  • Mrs4444 says:

Oh, jeez! I just started a “Saturday Sampling” meme a couple of weeks ago, not realizing that you do the same thing here. I will definitely share your link, too. Do you have a button for your Saturday posts?

Stopped by just to check in on you girls. I’m really happy for you; that SITS has continued to grow and blossom into a powerful, positive, inspiring place for bloggers. Congratulations, and keep up the great work that you do! 🙂

I would also like to invite anyone to join in on Fridays for “Friday Fragments,” which is going on its 104th post this week! It’s an EASY post, yet so satisfying! 🙂

    • Francesca says:

Thanks for asking about our button! You are too sweet. We actually don’t have one, so don’t worry about a thing. We are also in the process of changing our daily post schedule a bit, so what we’ve done previously with Saturdays will change starting next week.

Your congratulatory words made me feel all warm and fuzzy this morning. Thank you. You’re lovely!

  • Gabrielle says:

Even though I am new to blogging I have decided to come up with a couple theme posts to help me and others stay inspired. One of them is “Quote Me” where I share quotes. I did my first one yesterday. 🙂

  • theadviser says:

I am writing about a topic I have been meaning to write about for some time now-Jealousy. I do love visiting others site. They are always interesting. I don’t think I have been on a boring blogsite. I also love

  • NaPoBloMo has daily prompts! It’s great to help ease blogger block.

  • Stephanie says:

Always need a little blog inspiration!

  • Mary512 says:

I did a post on Back to School Projects that will save you money. Check it out and have a good week!

  • Wow, the site is soooo different! I’m enjoying looking around at all the new goodies. 🙂 Just wanted to stop by and say hi, since I’ve been so busy & haven’t had the chance to stop by as often as I’d like too!! XOXO

    • Francesca says:

Welcome back, Regina! So glad that you like what you are seeing on SITS. Reading the feedback from our community members has been fantastic and helps us to continue to improve our site!

  • All these ideas are so helpful! As a baby blogger (6-7 weeks!) I am still trying to learn so much!
